Old Mountain Sandalwood
|Thirty Years of Calm – The Fragrance of Stillness|
Product Type: Stick Incense
Net Weight: 10g (approx. 20 sticks)
Length: 21 cm per stick
Burn Time: Approx. 45 minutes per stick
Ingredient: Aged Mysore Sandalwood (India)
Product Description
This incense is crafted from authentic old-growth sandalwood from the Mysore region of southern India—the world’s most prized source of true Santalum album. Grown slowly, then seasoned and aged for over thirty years, this wood yields a scent unlike any other: creamy, floral, soft yet powerful, with a signature warmth that seems to melt tension on contact.
Each stick is hand-formed with pure sandalwood powder and natural binding agents. With a total of 10 grams per box, you’ll receive approximately 20 long-burning incense sticks, each 21 cm in length, designed to burn cleanly for around 45 minutes.
This is not merely incense—it is a ritual of return, a quiet coming home.
Scent Profile
-
Opening: soft, golden, slightly sweet wood
-
Heart: creamy, floral, with a milk-tea warmth
-
Base: lingering depth, like warm skin or sun-soaked earth
Unlike synthetic sandalwood perfumes, this natural incense unfolds slowly. It doesn’t shout—it soothes. The warmth rises gently in the air, calming thoughts, relaxing breath, and infusing your space with a sense of timeless peace.
Cultural Context
For over a thousand years, sandalwood has been regarded as the “king of fragrant woods” in both Indian and Chinese traditions. In Ayurveda, it is believed to cool the body, calm the spirit, and purify the mind. In Chinese incense culture, it was called “朝檀” (morning wood), burned at sunrise to awaken clarity and balance.
The Mysore region's climate, soil, and altitude produce sandalwood with exceptional oil density, now increasingly rare due to environmental protections and limited harvesting.

This is incense not for display—but for practice.
It invites attention, then dissolves into calm.
Our incense is entirely handcrafted — never machine-made. We work exclusively with a family-owned incense atelier that dates back to 1404. This lineage once served the imperial court during the Ming and Qing dynasties, and today remains an official partner of the Palace Museum (The Forbidden City).
Due to the artisanal nature of our incense and the long-distance shipping involved, occasional breakage may occur — a natural trace of its handmade origin. As a gesture of appreciation, we offer a complimentary incense holder with every purchase of stick or coil incense. If you are sensitive to this, we kindly suggest reconsidering before placing your order.
