Tie Guan Yin (Light Aroma) – The Pure Voice of Anxi
Originating from Anxi County, Quanzhou, Fujian, the true birthplace of Tie Guan Yin, this tea represents the heart and soul of southern Fujian oolong. The Tie Guan Yin cultivar is known for its tender buds and young leaves tinged with a faint purplish-red hue. Its leaf stems curve gracefully to one side, and the tip resembles a peach leaf — nature’s own poetry in form.
Tie Guan Yin is famous for what tea artisans call its “Yin Yun”, or musical resonance — a lingering, melodious taste that seems to sing in the throat.
At Baiyun Teahouse, we follow the classic light-aroma processing style, with 10–30% fermentation and light roasting that preserves the tea’s natural clarity and floral sweetness.
Grown under the subtropical monsoon climate of Anxi —
annual rainfall: 1,700–1,900 mm,
average temperature: 15–18°C,
frost-free for about 270 days,
and at elevations above 800 meters,
these “golden latitude” gardens near 20°N provide the ideal terroir for authentic Tie Guan Yin.
Only Tie Guan Yin from Anxi can truly be called Tie Guan Yin.
Its fragrance is clean, elegant, and natural; its taste fresh, mellow, and pure.
This tea also holds a personal place in my heart —
it was my first gateway into the world of tea, more than twenty years ago.
Brewing Guide:
For gatherings, use 8g of tea with 100°C purified or spring water.
Pour quickly and serve immediately for the first infusions.
