160cc Purple Clay Rongtian Teapot
Original Ore Zini | Handcrafted Masterwork | Classic Form, Expansive Spirit
The Rongtian teapot—its name means "to contain the heavens." And indeed, this vessel carries more than tea: it holds stillness, balance, and quiet power.
Crafted entirely by hand from original ore Zini (purple clay), this 160cc teapot is designed for deeper gatherings—ideal for 2 to 4 guests, or for those long, reflective solo sessions when one steeping flows into the next. The classic rounded body, strong shoulder lines, and commanding lid form pay homage to Ming dynasty aesthetics—restrained, humble, yet full of presence.
Zini: The Heart of Yixing
Zini, or purple clay, is the most iconic material in Yixing teaware. Rich in iron and naturally porous, it retains heat well and allows tea to "breathe" during steeping. Over time, it absorbs the essence of the tea it meets, becoming more seasoned, more alive.
This particular clay shows subtle iron speckles and dark undertones, hallmarks of unrefined, authentic ore. Fired at high temperature, it yields a firm, gravelly texture that enhances both aroma and mouthfeel of the brew.
Rongtian: A Form Rooted in Philosophy
“Rong” means to embrace, “Tian” is heaven. The form is generous, grounded, and dignified. The spout is direct and steady, the handle rounded and responsive, the knob thick and centered for ease of control. It’s not flashy—it’s eternal.
